The world's smallest living dog in the world is a long-haired teacup female chihuahua owned by Lana Elswick of Raceland, Kentucky. Her owner named her Boo-boo, she's the current Guinness World record Holder for the Smallest Living Dog, she measures 4 inches tall, 6.5 inches long, and weighing 24 ounces. She was born last April 15, 2006.

According to Guinness World Book of Records Fun Facts:


  • Boo-boo weighed less than an ounce at birth (The vet said it was a miracle that she'd survived)
  • Lengthwise, she's shorter than the NYC Pizza
  • When born, she was a third of a size of the rest of the puppies
  • It would take 3,750 Boo-boos to reach the top of the Empire State Building
  • Boo-boo was originally fed out of an eye dropper, one drop at a time
  • She likes vegetables better than steaks
  • Weighs as much as 4 1/2 Magnolia Cupcakes
  • She only drinks bottled spring water
  • Hates walking in the grass and slick floor-- she will only walk on sidewalks and carpet fits in a ladies shoe
