Dog's Ten Commandments

As I'm reading some dog articles, I was led on this website (http://www.showdog-magazine.com/Poems/poem32.htm) where it talks about a dog's Ten Commandments and it somehow made me guilty and emotional at the same time, so if you are a responsible dog owner you can read and apply these commandments in your daily life.

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any seperation from you will be very painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me- it is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up for my punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment. I have only you!

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it's speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll NEVER forget it.

7. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you.

8.Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. 
Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I've been out in the sun too long, or my heart may be getting old and weak.

9.Take care of me when I get old. You, too, will grow old.

10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch it" or, "Let it happen on my absence." Everything is easier for ME if you are there. Remember, I love you.

SOCCSKARGEN Blogfest 2.0 ended up amazingly beautiful, it's just like winning a first spot in a dog show contest.

Well, I can't speak nor write things on how awesome the event was and it still captivates me until now from our jaw-dropping guest speakers starting with Bob Martin, Manolo Quezon, Jack Madrid, Hon. Darlene Antonino-Custodio, Raffy Tima, Mae Paner (Juana Change), Abe Olandres, oh come on! what more can You ask for? I'm not just bloated with the food that we have eaten but with the learning and knowledge that I've gained from this God-given responsible speakers.

It's not just a typical event, because at the first place it somehow changed my perspective as a blogger, in which I must be responsible enough in writing and in blogging.

Dog Bark: Types of Barking

What does barking mean? are our pooch have something to deal with us? are they mad? or are they just scaring us? -- Well, dog bark has been a great discussion among people/owners over why do dog barks and what does each bark means.

Bark
-is an utterance or sound commonly produced by dogs and puppies. In the English language, the common representation of dog bark sound is Woof some are Au-au, bow-wow, ruff, yip, and arf.


According to Wikipedia, there are types of barking such as the following:

Warning Bark - A warning will usually start out as a low, quiet, but ferociously noticeable growl before escalating into something of a howling bark. This type of reaction is most typically seen in domesticated animals in response to a perceived territorial intrusion. The dog may also bare its teeth if it feels immediately threatened.

Also most monkeys make this type of barking noise when communicating with other monkeys or to scare off larger animals.

Alarm Bark - It is a dog's attempt to be alert, attentive, and informative to its human "pack", as regarding unusual events. This kind of barking is known as 'alarm barking', and is common within a variety of breeds. It does not signify aggression, and (although often associated with unusual noises intruding on the dog's 'territory') is not the same as territoriality type barking. It may take the form of just one or a few barks, or it may give rise to sustained barking until the dog sees that some action has been taken. Alarm barking is more likely to arise when a dog can hear, but not see the source of, some noise. Examples of sounds which commonly cause alarm barking include doorbells, cars, noises from adjacent dwellings, and the like. It is a behavior that tends to develop with age and maturity, and also can be related to whether there are others around who might need to be informed of such events - often an alarm barker will remain quiet if alone and there is nobody to 'tell'.

Barking on Command - A dog can be trained to bark on command.

Playful Bark - Some dogs will bark for a treat or when they are playing. Dogs will also bark when they like what they're playing.

Need Bark - Many dogs can self-develop actions that serve themselves if they need something. This is commonly done along with a form of action.Example, a dog may nudge its bowl and bark if it is hungry, or it may nudge its owner and bark if it wants some form of attention such as petting.

The world's smallest living dog in the world is a long-haired teacup female chihuahua owned by Lana Elswick of Raceland, Kentucky. Her owner named her Boo-boo, she's the current Guinness World record Holder for the Smallest Living Dog, she measures 4 inches tall, 6.5 inches long, and weighing 24 ounces. She was born last April 15, 2006.

According to Guinness World Book of Records Fun Facts:

• Boo-boo weighed less than an ounce at birth (The vet said it was a miracle that she'd survived)
• Lengthwise, she's shorter than the NYC Pizza
• When born, she was a third of a size of the rest of the puppies
• It would take 3,750 Boo-boos to reach the top of the Empire State Building

Mishka did really great on her first move to make a viral video and she's the only dog that I know who has this number of fans around the globe. Tibetan Mastiff is the Most Expensive Dog

On March 2011, the most expensive dog was bought by a coal magnate from Northern China, a multi-millionaire.

The dog was called "Big Splash" or "Hong Dong" in Chinese, a Red Tibetan Mastiff and was purchased with an awesome amount of 10 Million Yuan which is about 1.5 Million US Dollars. The pooch is an 11-month old dog, stands approximately three feet high and weighs more than 180 pounds.

The most amazing thing is that, this pooch beats the record that was set by another Tibetan Mastiff which they called "Yangtze River" and was sold with an amazing amount of 4 Million Yuan which is about 609,000 US Dollars. Amazing isn't it?
